The following paintings will be available in the shop on October 1 at NOON EDT.
Heirloom XXX, 2023, oil on canvas, 48” x 60”, $10,000 + shipping
My thirtieth Heirloom painting. It’s my favorite I’ve ever made. It’s hard to say why, but I know that I’ve reached a turning point after experiencing a lot of grief (along with so much joy and other heavy things) over the last few years. And the person it’s shaped me into being is the person who made this painting. Moments from each prior Heirloom painting make an appearance.
Heirloom XXVII, 2023, oil on canvas, 15” x 14”, $950 + shipping
You may have noticed that sometimes a post of a painting will disappear from my Instagram and, later, a new one with the same title may take its place. Heirloom XXVII is one of those paintings. I used a similar palette to make this version, but it’s the very first Heirloom to have a repeated floral motif.
The same figure and the same memory from different perspectives, revisited over time.
The Watchtower, 2023, oil on canvas, 32” x 27”, $2,000 + shipping
A remake of a (now destroyed) painting I made in 2021. It’s a painting about a lot of things: my childhood (the shape of the figure reminds me of the irises that my grandmother always grew in her garden), the first months of motherhood during a global pandemic (the loneliness of the figure, and the way the stilt-like lower part of the figure bears the weight), and increased hypervigilance (the towering of the figure, a composition that pulls you upward).
The Watchtower looms over an expanse, a place that provides isolation, protection, and a high point at which to keep a watchful eye.
The Core, 2023, oil on canvas, 14” x 11”, $800 + shipping
This painting tells the story of how my relationship with my husband changed (and continues to change) after the birth of our daughter. It’s the most vulnerable painting I’ve made yet.
Three figures revolve against a volcanic backdrop. They become entwined as they lean into each other and then away. Again and again, toward the center.
